Royal Purveyor Wöhler
The building is located at the corner of Fischerstraße/Puschkinstraße, at the southern end of Schelfstadt. The Wöhler Wine House was appointed as a royal purveyor by the Grand Duchess of Mecklenburg-Schwerin in 1914.
Back then
The building was constructed as a visible half-timbered structure with brick infill on an L-shaped floor plan. The building complex is grouped around a small inner courtyard. The ground floor of the two-story building was subsequently clad. On the upper floor, the original half-timbering with reddish brick infill was left visible. The building's roof is constructed as a gable roof.
Style
The Wöhler Wine House, with its hotel, restaurant, and wine trade, is a historic landmark of Schwerin, where guests can look forward to seasonal cuisine with freshly prepared fish, meat, and game dishes. It is located in the middle of the old town, within walking distance of Schwerin's most popular attractions such as the castle, cathedral, state theater, museums, and Lake Schwerin. Regularly moderated wine tastings are held in the rustic vaulted cellar by the fireplace or in the wine rooms.
