Paulsstadt • Here, a triad of open work, cooperation, and diversity is lived: The “City Hort” of the Kita gGmbH on Steinstraße is an independent facility and works together with the “Hort Paulsstädter Fritzen” – specifically in the branch “Hort Mitte”. At the “City Hort”, every child has the opportunity to try something new – whether it’s dancing, crafting, acting, engaging in cultural activities, or simply turning everything upside down! In fact, we occasionally rearrange things together, adapt to new situations, and create new worlds in our multifunctional rooms.
Open work means that children, educational staff, and parents actively participate in creating a place full of joy, adventure, and security. At the “City Hort”, the primary focus is on promoting the independence of the children. Democratic principles are put into practice. The children learn to navigate within the community, integrate, and contribute. We provide opportunities for children to explore everyday life, test their limits, try out conflict resolution strategies, form and maintain social bonds. This requires rules, norms, and values: tolerance, respect, and consideration for others are modeled, taught, expected, and shown to our children with genuine conviction.
For the spacious “Hort Mitte” as a shared branch, the directors of “Paulsstädter Fritzen” and the “City Hort” cooperate as a team. “Participation was not just written into the concept, but is lived here every day. It’s a new facility for more than 300 children from two different schools, generously designed by children, for children. They have the opportunity to choose from many attractive leisure activities or simply relax with their friends. The ”City Hort" offers two sports fields, a new climbing frame, and a table tennis table. Many multifunctional rooms, which were designed and furnished with the children, invite little builders, curious researchers, creative thinkers and crafters, future craftsmen, show stars, chefs, IT experts, sports enthusiasts, and curious children every day.
