Kita „Feldstadtmäuse”

Experience integration with fun

Feldstadt • Every day, 31 toddlers and 74 kindergarten children romp through the “Feldstadtmäuse” daycare of the Kita gGmbH on Demmler Street. Among them are eight children with special needs. Tolerance and acceptance of all individual traits are a central focus in the pedagogy of this facility. Children requiring additional support are fully integrated. To achieve this, we work closely with parents, therapists, the Social Pedagogical Center, early intervention agencies, and doctors. Thus, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and physical therapists are available as needed during care hours. As children prepare for first grade, we collaborate closely with the Fritz-Reuter School and the Montessori School to ensure a smooth transition.

We wholeheartedly embrace integration and inclusion. Children with all their individual needs can freely and creatively develop in their own unique ways. For all the little visitors, participation, play, experimentation, creative projects, and sports are part of the daily program. In the in-house woodworking shop, budding builders can hammer and craft to their hearts’ content. Here, children continually develop, learning from each other as they navigate strengths and weaknesses, challenges, and personal achievements.

The bond between children with and without disabilities is strong. They complement each other in their strengths and practice empathy. The children learn that not everyone can do everything, but that everyone has something special they can do. Our ‘Feldstadtmäuse’ daycare is located near Lake Ostorfer, on the edge of the Feldstadt district, and is nestled within a quiet residential area.

Crossing the threshold of our historic villa, one steps into a colorful children’s world spread over three floors with a spacious, green outdoor area. Here, our little mice experience daily adventures, both big and small. Meadows, trees, and hedges invite them to hide and explore—true to the motto: 'If you pick up your child clean from daycare today, they haven’t played or learned!' (M. Montessori).
