Neu Zippendorf • Since January 2024, we welcome the kids into our “Kinderkosmos” of the Kita gGmbH – our daycare in Zippendorf opened its doors. Finally, 63 children will be able to explore their new home. The new residents of the cosmos can look forward to not only open, thoughtfully designed spaces that cater to the needs and interests of the children but also to a nature-oriented and adventure-filled outdoor area that is part of our daycare world. To support parents with long working hours, we offer extended opening hours from 5:45 AM to 8:30 PM, if needed.

With our facility, we are taking new paths, as we make daily encounters between the young and the elderly possible. Unfortunately, this is no longer a given elsewhere, but through the location of our daycare on the grounds of the Zippendorf residential park and our concept, we are building a bridge between generations. This is why we focus our educational approach on intergenerational work: children and seniors meet in everyday life and spend time together. Together with the Zippendorf residential park, we not only plan joint experiences and activities such as excursions, baking, cooking, reading aloud, or storytelling, but we also create opportunities for spontaneous and unplanned encounters at the daycare. Through this, the children learn about the life world of older people in a playful way, and the seniors benefit from the children’s curiosity and liveliness. The shared laughter and experiences create a connection between young and old – promoting mutual understanding and enriching both sides. Living together instead of side by side is our motto.

Our daycare aims to be a place of learning. We offer, among other things, a creativity room, a construction workshop, a multipurpose room, a children’s restaurant, a media and research room, and a library with a reading corner. Here, the children will find a learning environment that we have designed to be stimulating and challenging. This allows them to act, work, and learn independently, responsibly, and self-directed. Our goal is to support and guide the children individually in their personal development.

We are looking forward to the new cosmos residents and exciting experiences, not only in our building but also in the wonderful surroundings, as Lake Schwerin is virtually at our doorstep – with regular trips to Zippendorf Beach already planned!
