Warnitz • The "Plappermäulchen" daycare is a small facility. The oldest daycare of the Kita gGmbH is located in a rural setting and impresses with its family atmosphere. With twelve available spots for toddlers and 30 kindergarten spots, close interaction is a given. All rooms and functional areas are designed according to the needs of the children, have an inviting character, and are adaptable. The children come together based on their interests and either realize their own play ideas or team up with others.
We work closely with the "Reggio Emilia" daycare in Friedrichsthal. For our physical activities, we use the spaces of the nearby daycare. On our own large outdoor area, various play equipment invites the children to let off steam. The children can visit the sensory garden or retreat to the willow teepees with their friends. The flower beds created by the children help develop social behaviors and foster a sense of responsibility. The village setting also leads to close cooperation with local organizations, such as the fire department. Furthermore, the idyllic surroundings – dotted with forests and meadows – are perfect for exploring nature. Handling natural materials like wood or plaster can also be practiced in our own workshop.
"All experiences in our daycare are shaped by needs-based pedagogy and Reggio pedagogy. This means that the children determine the process of their development themselves. We provide impulses, but they decide whether to accept them or stay with another game. We create an environment that encourages them to ask questions, experiment, and discover themselves. We offer them spaces of experience that give them the opportunity to develop their feelings for themselves and find out: What do I want, what do I need, and how can I achieve it?"
