Mueßer Holz • Creativity and a sense of exploration: Those walking along the forest edge near the Lewitz will discover plants, small animals, as well as curious, lively, and laughing “Waldgeister” from the namesake daycare of the Kita gGmbH. There are 36 toddler and 54 kindergarten spots available.

Since almost 40 years, our door has always been open to children from all over the world. This is something the wise owls, Emil and Emilia, observe as well: These two mascots at the entrance keep a loving eye on how our little visitors fly around the house, the vast yard, and the surrounding nature. At least once a week, we head into the forest. It serves as a space for play, experience, the senses, and learning, offering the forest spirits plenty of inspiration for creativity and exploration. Indoors, the variety is no less exciting.

An art studio brings out the artists in the children, a workshop invites them to work with natural materials and the movement room is a great place to run wild. Regular safaris through the nearby forest are also part of the daily program at the daycare. Throughout this colorful hustle and bustle, the educators – uniquely at Kita gGmbH – use the "Marte Meo" method. This involves video analysis of the children’s communication and behavior, which is astonishing in how it supports and strengthens their development. Every child should find their place with us and be given the time to follow their own learning paths, take responsibility for themselves, and gradually learn about shared responsibility.

We, the educators, accompany the children in this process. Parents are our potential partners in this endeavor. Our shared goal is the well-being and optimal development of each child. Children should be able to be children and experience a happy childhood. In our "House of Children," there are always small wonders to be experienced.
