Piano-Haus Kunze

The premier destination for quality instruments

First Address: Piano-Haus Kunze has been in business since 1992 and serves as a store, workshop, and gathering place for artists and music lovers, under the direction of Matthias Kunze. A skilled team of six experienced employees and one apprentice supports the business. As an exclusive partner of the world-renowned piano manufacturer “Steinway & Sons,” Piano-Haus Kunze in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is the premier destination for quality instruments.
In addition, the selection includes instruments from prestigious brands such as Blüthner, Rönisch, Boston, Essex, and C. Bergmann, as well as digital pianos from KAWAI. Piano stools, piano lights, metronomes, guitars, and sheet music round out the offering. Of course, a comprehensive range of piano-related services is provided to best meet all customer needs.

Matthias Kunze Senior began construction of the sales pavilion on a greenfield site in Alt Meteln and opened the business on September 26, 1992. On April 20, 2015, Matthias Kunze opened his Piano-Haus at Puschkinstraße 32 in Schwerin. Since 2024, the third generation has also been part of the company: Luca Kunze, who completed his training as a piano builder at Steinway & Sons in Hamburg in December 2023, is now part of the team in the workshop and supports his father. The family legacy thus continues.

As a partner of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, the Usedom Music Festival, the Schönberg Music Summer, as well as the Schwerin State Theater, the Volkstheater Rostock, the HMT Rostock, and many music schools, we are constantly treated to truly special artists and moments. In recent years, we have had the privilege of working with great artists such as Martha Argerich, Rudolf Buchbinder, Pierre Laurent Aimard, Hélène Grimaud, Joja Wendt, Matthias Kirschnereit, Sebastian Knauer, Igor Levit, András Schiff, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Mitsuko Uchida, Alice Sara Ott, Fazil Say, Jan Lesiecki, and many more.
