Schwerin • Eight employers, one goal – they show how modern and diverse work for and in the city is today: On May 8, Schwerin's municipal companies are joining forces and presenting themselves for the first time in a joint trade fair format in the foyer of Stadtwerke Schwerin. Under the motto “Your city. Your opportunity,” the “Job Depot” focuses on activities, exchange, insights, and real encounters – including an after-work party.

Participants include Stadtwerke Schwerin, WAG – Wasserversorgungs- und Abwasserentsorgungsgesellschaft Schwerin, NGS – Netzgesellschaft Schwerin, AQS – Aqua Service Schwerin, ZGM – Zentrales Gebäudemanagement Schwerin, SIS|KSM as a municipal IT service provider, Sparkasse Mecklenburg-Schwerin, and WGS – Wohnungsgesellschaft Schwerin. Together, they cover
a broad spectrum of the job landscape: energy supply, IT, finance, housing construction, urban development, and technical infrastructure.
“The ‘Job Depot’ is an interactive experience. The companies offer more than just flyers or information brochures,” explains Job Depot organizer Janine Pleger. "The fair is designed to be fun, with lots to discover. Interactive stands invite visitors to get involved. Visitors can try out technology, learn about projects, and talk directly to trainers and employees. There is also a stage program and
a DJ for the after-work event."

Speed dating for the next career step
Amidst the exhibition stands, a speed dating table invites visitors to get to know all the employers on site in a short conversation. Afterwards, conversations can be continued in a lounge area. On stage, there are panel discussions and short keynote speeches, for example on the topic of business etiquette. Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., the program is primarily aimed at school classes and students. From
3 p.m. to 8 p.m., the focus is on skilled workers and managers. However, school pupils and students are of course also welcome in the afternoon, and skilled workers are also welcome in the morning. Apprenticeships, internships, dual study programs, and specific job offers are waiting to be discovered. Whether you are an engineer, IT specialist, business economist, real estate agent, banker, office clerk, gardener, or any other profession, the range
of careers on offer is vast. The fair shows that secure jobs and exciting tasks are close at hand in Schwerin.

Anyone who already has a specific employer in mind and would like to register for an interview will be able to arrange an appointment within the coming weeks. The registration tool will be activated shortly.
This creates realistic prospects right on the spot. Municipal employers work with modern technology, drive digitalization forward, and actively shape sustainable urban development. The often-cited “dusty” image has no place here.

After-work event with a view
From 4 p.m., a DJ will create a relaxed atmosphere and get everyone in the mood for the weekend. Catering and conversations in a relaxed setting will round off the day. Information meets entertainment – and makes it clear that careers in Schwerin are varied, down-to-earth, and anything but boring.
