Are you afraid of art? Not with the umbrella children! Numerous curious hands have already touched the sculpture - without any problems. It was only the heavy rain in Schwerin that once damaged the bronze umbrella.
In 2012, the sculpture was therefore dismantled and given a cure for limescale. But even this did not affect the good mood of the two protagonists, who weigh around two centners. Perhaps it is precisely this light, innocent manner that makes the portrait a popular photo motif.
The sculpture is an incentive to take pleasure in small things... like raindrops running down the window. Warm summer rain on the skin. Or: a luminous rainbow. All of these can certainly be captured at the statue's location, at the Pfaffenteich.
